Boarding

Heading Out of Town for a Little While?

Or, just need a place for your pal to hang out during the day sometimes, to stay out of trouble while you’re at work?

If you’re looking for a safe place for your dog or cat to board, where they’ll be treated well and have access to veterinary care, then you’ll want to consider having them board with us.

Enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that your pet will be taken care of by people who love pets just as much as you do…

Plus, we provide excellent care for pets that need special attention (such as seniors, or pets who have conditions like diabetes or seizures). A veterinarian will be nearby and can attend to their needs.

Dog

All dog suites have access to music and the large luxury suites provide your pet with some extra leg room and some added peace and quiet. The entire yard is sanitized each night with a diluted bleach solution to maintain a high level of cleanliness. The dogs get an ample 4-5 off-leash walks a day to burn off some energy and get some fresh, Florida air.

The condo dividers can be opened to provide double units if desired and we are always thinking of new ways to provide a comfortable and stress free stay for your feline friend.

  • Cats: All cats boarding with us are required to be current on Rabies and Feline Distemper.

Health and Behavior

All boarding pets must be free of fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites and must be on a flea and tick preventative. If your pet is found to have fleas or ticks, we will provide treatment to your pet at the expense of the owner.

We are equipped to care for older pets and to administer routine medications for chronic conditions; however, the boarding team is not equipped to care for critically ill, overly aggressive or biting pets. We reserve the right to refuse to accept any pet if, at check-in, it appears to us that such pet is sick or that its behavior could jeopardize the health or safety of other pets or our staff.

While your pet is staying with us, they will be exposed to other pets. You acknowledge and agree that in the unlikely event your pet is injured by another pet, you will not hold us responsible for the injury. If your pet injures another pet, you will be solely responsible for any injury that occurs, whether to your pet or another.

In the event your pet is sick and requires medical care, daytime hospitalization is offered at Angel Animal Hospital.

If your pet requires emergency medical attention while boarding with us, we will call the emergency contact you leave on file for authorization if you are not reachable by phone. If we are unable to reach you or the emergency contact on file within a timely manner, we will provide any necessary treatments that are in the best interest of your pet at the expense of the owner.

Food and Medication

It is hospital policy that we do not accept raw food to be fed on our premises. If your pet is on a raw diet, please bring an alternative food for your pet while they are boarding with us. If your pet has a sensitive stomach or tends to get anxious, please consider bringing your pet's food to minimize any chance of gastrointestinal upset while they are boarding.

All medications must be brought in the original prescription vial or bottle. For safety purposes, we will not accept any medication that does not have an approved prescription label. Please bring any OTC supplements in the original bottle or container. Should you not bring medications in the original container, we are happy to fill your pet's prescription needs in our pharmacy upon admission. Please let us know if your pet will need a refill of any medication while boarding with us.

Personal Items

Angel Animal Hospital cannot guarantee that your pet’s belongings will be returned to you at all or intact at the end of your pet’s stay. We will, of course, do our very best but we urge you not to leave any valuable or irreplaceable personal items. We also strongly advise against leaving any items that can potentially become a hazard for your pet while boarding.

Payment and Pick Up Policy

All charges begin on the day you leave your pet and must be paid at the time of departure.

In the event a pet is not picked up on the agreed-upon departure date, we will continue to provide the daily services set forth in the Boarding Release Form. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if such pet becomes abandoned as defined by local or state regulations, we will follow the Abandoned Pet Procedure as outlined below:

Abandoned Pet Procedure: Once deemed abandoned, all services for such pet, other than basic services for care will be terminated. Angel Animal Hospital will send a certified letter (return receipt requested) to you at the address you have provided on this document the fifth (5th) day following the scheduled Departure Date of your pet, advising you that if your pet is not picked up within ten days of the notification date, your pet will be deemed abandoned, that we must contact the appropriate authorities for delivery or, where permitted by law, a third party adoption partner and placed for adoption. All adoption fees will be the responsibility of you, the owner. You shall remain liable to us for all unpaid charges including court costs and reasonable attorney's fees incurred in the collection of the charges.

Common After-Affects

Diarrhea and weight loss are common side effects of a change in environment.

Being away from home, being around other dogs, eating different food, and just being excited can affect appetite and gastrointestinal homeostasis. Diarrhea and weight loss can occur under many circumstances, even in dogs that fully enjoy their stay with us.

Other common occurrences include colds. Risks of upper respiratory infection is higher in group settings such as dog parks, on the sidewalks where other dogs frequent, or at the groomer or veterinary clinic.

Angel Animal Hospital reserves the right to exercise its own best judgment in all circumstances as to how to best provide the services selected and will exercise reasonable care to ensure the safety of your pet. Angel Animal Hospital will keep all premises sanitary and properly enclosed and ensure that all pets are properly and regularly fed, and housed in clean, safe quarters.
